Special Resident Visas
Special Resident Visas are issued to foreigners who intend to come to the Philippines for an indefinite or permanent period whether for employment generation, investment, work or retirement purposes.
Special Visa for Employment Generation (SVEG)
Nature of visa
A special visa issued to a qualified non-immigrant foreigner who shall actually employ at least ten (10) Filipinos in a lawful and sustainable enterprise, trade, or industry. Qualified foreigners who are granted the SVEG shall be considered special non-immigrants with multiple entry privileges and conditional extended stay, without need of prior departure from the Philippines.

Who may appy
The applicant who shall employ at least 10 Filipinos including the qualified foreigner’s spouse and dependent unmarried child/children below eighteen (18) years of age whether legitimate, illegitimate or adopted.
Validity
Indefinite
Requirements
For qualified applicants:

1. Letter-request to the Commissioner
2. Duly-accomplished application form
3. Photocopy of passport bio-page and latest admission with valid authorized stay
4. Business registration papers
5. Alien Employment Permit (AEP) issued by the Department of Labor and Employment
6. Certification from the DOLE that the applicant's business, investment or activity has employed at least 10 Filipinos on a regular basis
7. Medical Certificate from the Bureau of Quarantine
8. Sworn statement certifying names of Filipino employees and that he/she undertakes to pay PhilHealth/SSS contributions and that no employee receives below minimum wage
9. Valid NBI Clearance
10. Clearance Certificate from the Bureau of Immigration (BI)

For spouse/dependents of qualified applicants:

1. Duly-accomplished application form
2. Photocopy of passport bio-page and latest admission with valid authorized stay
3. Proof of filiation (marriage certificate/birth certificate/adoption decree)
4. BI Clearance Certificate
Special Investor's Resident Visa (SIRV)
Nature of visa
A special non-immigrant visa issued by the BI through the Board of Investments (BOI) that entitles the holder to live in the Philippines for an indefinite period as long as the required qualifications and investments are maintained.

Who may appy
A foreigner at least twenty-one (21) years of age, and meets the following qualifications:
​
1. has not been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude
2. is not afflicted with any loathsome, dangerous or contagious disease
3. has not been institutionalized for any mental disorder or disability
4. is willing and able to invest the amount of at least US$75,000.00 in covered investments.
Validity
Probationary SIRV is valid for six (6) months while the Indefinite SIRV is valid as long as the visa holder maintains the required investment in the Philippines.
Requirements
For purposes of securing an SIRV, only investments/shares of stocks in the following existing, new or proposed corporations shall be allowed/accepted as eligible forms of investment:
1. Publicly-listed companies
2. Companies engaged in areas listed in the Investment Priorities Plan (IPP) of the Board of Investments (see latest IPP here)
3. Companies engaged in the manufacturing and services sectors.

Special Resident Retiree Visa (SRRV)
Nature of visa
The SRRV is a special non-immigrant visa for foreign nationals who would like to make the Philippines their second home or investment destination.
Who may appy
Principal Retiree applicants must be foreign nationals or former Filipino citizens who are at least fifty (50) years old
Dependent spouse must be legally married to the Principal Retiree.
Children must be legitimate or legally adopted by the Principal Retiree, unmarried and below twenty-one (21) years old upon joining the program.
Validity
Probationary SIRV is valid for six (6) months while the Indefinite SIRV is valid as long as the visa holder maintains the required investment in the Philippines.
Requirements

Original valid Passport with valid /updated Temporary Visitor’s Visa;

Accomplished PRA Application Form;

Original valid Medical Clearance;

Original valid Police Clearance from country of origin, and an additional NBI Clearance, if applicant has stayed in the Philippines for over 30 days from last date of entry;

Photos (8 pieces, 2″x2″);

SRR Visa deposit that is inwardly remitted;

Annual Fee of US$360.00 (for the Principal & 2 dependents)*

Marriage Certificate for joining dependent-spouse
Birth Certificate for joining dependent-child.
Additional requirements may be requested depending on the SRR Visa Option to be chosen by the SRRV applicant. The Medical and Police Clearances are valid up to 6 months from date of issuance. All documents issued outside of the Philippines must be translated in English, if necessary, and authenticated by the Philippine Embassy/Consular Office nearest the applicant’s residence.
